When this portrait was completed infant Wadline Etienne and 50 year old Roseline Etienne lived in a tent with other family members at the Pont-Rouge Displaced Persons Camp outside of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. They had been displaced by the earthquake on January 12th, 2010.
This series of 7 large portraits of Haitian earthquake survivors are based off the work of award-winning photographer Q. Sakamaki. In 2010 Q. and I collaborated on an exhibit and auction benefitting rebuilding efforts in Haiti.
