At Pont-Rouge Displaced Persons Camp, near Port-au-Prince, Haiti, 52-year-old Claudel Louimas stayed in a tent with his wife and three children. At the time of this portrait he had lost two cousins due to the January 12th, 2010 earthquake.
This series of seven large portraits of Haitian earthquake survivors are based off the work of award-winning photographer Q. Sakamaki. In 2010 Q. and I collaborated on an exhibit and auction benefitting rebuilding efforts in Haiti.
